Vila Rock Wool Blanket Insulation (Isoblanket): Flexible Insulation for Irregular Surfaces and High Temperatures

The Optimal Solution for Insulating Tanks, Furnaces, and Industrial Ducts

Vila Rock Wool blanket insulation is a highly flexible insulation supplied in roll or blanket form. This product is ideal for insulating irregular surfaces, large tanks, furnaces, and air ducts in various industries. With excellent thermal and acoustic properties and resistance to extreme temperatures, rock wool blanket insulation helps reduce energy loss and increase safety in industrial environments.

Detailed Product Introduction and Key Advantages

Vila Rock Wool blanket insulation is an insulation made from basalt fibers, produced in flexible rolls. Due to its high formability, this product is highly suitable for covering complex and irregularly shaped surfaces. The version presented on this page is reinforced with galvanized wire mesh, which increases its mechanical strength and ease of installation, especially for vertical surfaces and ceilings.

Key Advantages of Vila Group Rock Wool Blanket:

  • High flexibility: easily wraps around curved and irregular surfaces, providing complete coverage.

  • Exceptional thermal resistance: capable of withstanding very high temperatures (up to +649°C) and is ideal for insulating furnaces, boilers, and hot industrial lines.

  • Effective thermal and acoustic insulation: simultaneously prevents heat loss and helps reduce noise in industrial environments.

  • Fire resistance: non-combustible (Class A1) and helps increase fire safety.

  • Durability and stability: resistant to vibrations and temperature changes and has a long service life.

Applications and Target Industries:

Vila Group rock wool blanket is widely used in insulating storage tanks, industrial furnaces, boilers, air transfer ducts, chimneys, and large-diameter pipes in the oil, gas, petrochemical, power generation, steel, and cement industries.

Vila Group Quality Commitment:

Vila Group, utilizing advanced technologies and specialized human resources, manufactures rock wool blanket with the highest quality and in accordance with international standards. Our commitment to Iran’s industrial self-sufficiency and providing sustainable insulation solutions guarantees the satisfaction of industrial customers.

What is Rock Wool Blanket?

High-quality, first-grade rock wool blanket insulation is made from basalt mineral fibers, which is a hard, black, fine-grained volcanic rock. As a result, it has the ability to withstand very high temperatures. A large percentage of the total rock wool product consists of fine volcanic fibers, with the remainder consisting of products such as resin. The rate of heat transfer through rock wool is very low, which significantly reduces energy consumption.

Due to its chemically neutral and inert materials, rock wool is one of the safest thermal and acoustic insulations. Depending on the type of rock wool, its temperature range varies but typically withstands between 300 and 900°C. Since the highest energy consumption in Iran is related to industry, homes, and office sectors, rock wool blankets are highly practical. To make rock wool blanket, a large amount of raw rock wool is consolidated with fireproof thread onto woven galvanized mesh and is produced in various forms. Of course, special rock wool is also produced for different applications; for example, for locations adjacent to direct flames, thermal rock wool blanket with kraft paper facing should not be used, because the paper facing of this insulation catches fire and is destroyed in the very first minutes. Also, for open spaces, insulation with a suitable aluminum facing should be used.

Features of Rock Wool Blanket Insulation:

One of the most important features of rock wool is its very high sound absorption and acoustic insulation. The amount of sound absorption depends on the thickness of the insulation. Therefore, the thicker the insulation, the higher its sound absorption. Also, because rock wool is composed of volcanic rock fibers, it is a very good thermal insulator and can be used in insulating industrial pipes, ship hulls, and kitchen equipment. Rock wool does not cause metal corrosion and has alkaline properties. For this reason, it can be used in metal structures. Rock wool is antibacterial and cannot be a suitable place for the growth of pests and fungi. In addition, it is environmentally friendly and completely harmless to the environment. It is resistant to UV radiation and has high chemical stability. Rock wool can also be used in greenhouses as a growing medium for plants.

Applications of Rock Wool Blanket Insulation with Galvanized Wire Mesh:

Isoblanket insulations are available for various uses in densities from 80 to 150 kg/m³ and thicknesses from 30 to 100 mm, which you can obtain depending on your needs. This product is often used for locations with flat surfaces or large curves and is used because of its tolerance of high temperatures up to about 750°C. This insulation is used in various industries such as power plants, refineries, petrochemicals, cement factories, acid production, sugar production, and thermal facilities, for insulating flat and curved surfaces, large-diameter pipes, furnaces, steam boilers, tall chimneys, turbine exhausts, heating rooms, and so on. It should be noted that aluminum cladding is used to strengthen the insulation against ambient moisture. The application of this product will be in insulating tank walls, furnace walls, cold and hot fluid guide channels, industrial hall cladding, and so on.

Storage Recommendations

  • It is best to protect it from exposure to sunlight, rain, hail, and snow.
  • Isoblanket rolls should be stored vertically in the warehouse.
